updates for feb, or so to say..

Ha. I have TOTALLY NEGLECTED my blog. Well, I can understand why most of the OSBs stop blogging the moment they started working, 'cos I'm just one of the many.. haha. On working days, gotta wake up at unearthly hours, gotta leave hse even b4 the sun rises, gotta work through the day and trying hard not to fall asleep at work, gotta rush home, 'cos basically I'm damn tired, gotta catch all the shows I wanna watch. On weekends, precious time alone period, but couldn't stand staying at home too much either, so went out, go shop, stay up late, catch more shows that I missed, rest and slack. That's how I spend all my weeks since I started working.

CNY came and gone. I'm so sorry to the OSBs for not turning up at the yearly gambling event at Bene's hse. REALLY wanted to come, but my stomach is telling me no. It was practically stucked to the bowl or on bed. When the stomach decided to stop playing with me, it's evening time. Too late to head over there, so I missed the event!! Boo! Was looking forward to gambling, cos I didn't gamble throughout CNY, probably only played 3rounds of blackjack... yeah that's how boring my CNY was. Ha.

Well, I'm totally hating my skin now. It's so sensitive that I like rashing every now and then! When it started to show signs of getting better, the next day the rash came back full on. I'm cursing everytime I see the rash. Sigh. I wonder what is the cause of it. I remember Jess telling me this, allergy to anything can be developed anytime in your life. Sigh. Wonder if I'm getting new allergy not. Hopefully it's not from food. Only know I DEFINITELY allergic to grass. And now, probably to dust as well. Argh. Sensitive skin. Now even alcohol I don't dare to touch much, since the alcohol rash has worsen compared to a few year back. Probably cos I don't drink alot, that's why it worsen also. Ha.

Ok. Getting brain dead. No idea what else to update. I used to have so much to write. Now, even after 1+mth of no updates, I can only think of 3 things to write about. HA. That's about it. I wonder when will my next update be.....

1st entry of 2009~

Ha. My first blog entry in 2009! well, this update comes 13days late.. haha. Was too lazy to do update. Basically, I'm sick again. zzzzzzz. More of since the previous entry that I was sick, till now I havent fully recovered yet. That's why it all came back again. Now I got sexy voice and blocked nose. And the damn cough is back again.. zzzzzz can hardly breathe lor.. the whole nose and lungs feel so congested. Didn't take mc, cos was rushing work, I still feel fine enough to go work, other than the constant urge to sleep and the runny nose.. ha.

Ok, short update of past events. X'mas come and gone with celebration at sand's hse, our F5 gathering. Haha. Next up was NYE's bbq with min and dap at min's friend's house. Since me and dap got nothing to do, decided to join min. Haha. Well, comes 3rd. Chalet/BBQ with the OSBs. Supposedly drinking session ended up with 2 down and a couple of us went to sleep. Well, don't blame us, we are old le, can no longer tahan staying up late anymore, especially after drinking, all the more we all feel like sleeping. Haha. Ok, this applies to me only, after drinking I will feel like sleeping, totally leaving out the HIGH part of alcohol. Haha.

After all these events, I was busy at work, with lots of last min tenders to do and super tiring. Barely able to rest much either. Probably that's why I'm sick again. Since the last time I fell sick, about 1 month ago, I didn't fully recover till now. Damn. My immune system is really low right now, that's why I don't really like office work, keep staying in the aircon place, with no fresh air and the germs just keep circulating around you, how to get better like this. Ok, myself to blame, I should try to get more rest, but time is not on my side, too much too accomplished with too little time. Haha. Guess that's a problem that all of us face. If only there are 48hrs in a day.....

secret update

Opps. Haven't been updating for the last 3weeks... well, quite busy and no time to update either. But now, I also can't remember what had occured in the last 3weeks, other than I'm very busy and don't have time to rest. Only can remember the events of last week. Hahaha.

Fell sick last week and took mc on tues. Back to work on wed. Had on and off fever on 2 days. Down will flu, cough and sore throat. Even after finishing my 5days of antibiotics, I'm still sick now. zzzzzz. This once again goes to show that once I fell sick, it takes a super long time for me to recover.. ha

Friday: Met the OSBs at harn's house for our xmas gathering and gift exchange. Left her house at ard 5+am, which resulted in me being more sick the next day. Yeah, I needed more rest if I wanna recover, but seems like I don't even have time to rest. Ha. Well, it was a crazy night. Since I'm still on antibiotics, I didn't joined in for the drinking game. Ha. I enjoyed myself looking at them play and mixing the drinks for them. I'm glad I'm not the 1 drinking, 'cos I can foresee that I will be drunk after their 1st round of games, looking at the rate that they are drinking. And that's disgusting king's cup! Haha. But ya, I guess I won't be able to avoid it for long, since the coming up chalet on the 3rd. Can I fall sick on the 3rd pls?! I don't wanna drink the king's cup, and I foresee I'm the suay one who will definitely drink that! Haha. Don't know why, I'm always suay when I'm playing games.

After Friay's night rendezvous, I fell sicker on sat due to lack of rest and staying up late. Sorry to daph and min ar, I pangseh u both on sat 'cos I don't fell well enough to go out to meet you guys and also, I was rashing up le. Sigh. Think is some allergy reaction of the seafood pizza and the antibiotics. Now both my arms and whole face are filled with rashes. ARRR!!! MY FACE!!! Now there's patches of red everywhere. Lucky it's not that itchy, and even if it's itchy, I have to ren! Cannot scratch, I don't wanna have anymore scars on my face and definitely not rashes scar! Boo. Hope it gets better soon, I hate looking at my face and touching it, 'cos it looks red and feels like road surface. Sigh. No more seafood for me! I hate allergy. Argh!

Ok, end of my secret update from the office. Since I'm not in the mood to work. Afterall, Santa Claus is coming to town! In 3 more days!! Woohoo!!

brief update

Supposed to update my blog 2 weekends ago... but laziness get the better of me.. Ha. Mostly 'cos everyday come back from work, I'm tired and had nothing in mind to blog about. Also, I'm busy with watching shows. By the time I'm free from my shows, it's time for me to sleep, which is like right now. Ha!

Then, comes the weekend. Though I don't go out on the weekends either, even if I do go out probably is with my mum most of the time, but I'm still busy with watching my shows. Lol. And was lazy to blog, since really nothing much to update other than I'm still slacking away at work. Well, of cos I did stuffs, but ya do too fast, so still rotting away and gotta wait for email replies before I proceed further. So that's pretty much about my life over the last 2 weeks.

Going for DND tmr nite at OCC for the company's 40th anniversary. Not very keen on going since I got no pay yet and gotta dress in evening wear. Like wth, never give me money, yet want me to dress nicely. But I'm not going to care, just going to wear a long casual skirt with a nicer tee. Lol. I don't own any dresses, so yup, they just gotta make do with my long skirt, since they didn't give me my pay yet. HA! I'm looking forward to this weekend, 'cos mon is a PH and thurs I'm only going to work half day. Haha. Then, to next week, which I will be having my shopping spree~~ Eh. Realise I haven't got my pay, but I have already gone for my shopping spree liao... Hahaha!

slack week again

Yeah. 2nd week of work. Haha. Nothing much actually. Basically I'm still reading on the technical specs of the project I'm involved in and another new tender project which I will b assisting my mentor in. So yeah, just more reading. Haha.

Got a company laptop on wed. Gotta wait another 2weeks for the new computer to be delivered. That's why I'm using laptop in the office. Finally not that boring at work 'cos I can go online and surf the net. Well, gotta be discreet about it. But yeah, gotta keep myself awake during office hours, so I'm like msn-ing people or email-ing "chat" with others. Haha. Lucky I got my own email add and own extension line. The orientation friend working in the Engineering Design Office was quite sad. She can't have her own email until after probation, which is 6mths later. And there's lots of restriction over there as well, such as they gotta sign some agreement that don't know how many % of the time is for personal calls and such. And their extention line is shared by a few others. Even when she wanna sms or make personal call on her hp, she gotta hide somewhere to do it. Kinda strict over there. I'm glad my department was very slack. Or rather, no people cares about what I am doing. Hahaha. Everyday I was just "thrown" there by myself to read up and do research on the web for things I don't know. At most my mentor come talk to me once or twice to ask how am I doing. He's to busy with sooo many projects that he didn't have time to sit down with me to tell me about the process of the ongoing project. So I'm still quite lost with everything. Oh. To the extent that I only know a few names in the office. Haha. 'Cos no one brings me around to introduce them to me and I can't recognise some of them even. There's only like 20-30+ people in the office. Lol.

Well, so far so gd. Actually, should be so far so boring. Haha. 'Cos I have only been reading non-stop for the last 1+week. But not bad ba, for the working environment in my department, and have to stress that it's only in my department that's not bad. Lol. Others I heard wasnt that good. Hmmm, soon I will be busy with work 'cos lots of new projects coming in and also, I will be involved in lots of meeting. Probably 1-2 meetings a day. Damn, I hate meetings.

new environment

End of my first week in my job. Well, in short, it's my honeymoon week, at least for the first 3.5days. Haha. Had 3.5days of orientation around the whole shipyard and I would say it's very interesting. Before I started work, I wasn't enthusiatic about the job at all, just accept the offer for the sake of getting a job. But after the 3.5days of orientation, I changed my mind. It's an interesting place to work in, where you will be exposed to all kinds of stuffs and really learn alot from there. Though it's really a busy place, probably with lots of OT and full of stress, but just a great learning experience.

This orientation is actually something that the company have for all management grade staffs which last for 3.5days. Yeah, as an engineer I am of management grade. Hahaha. First day was just visiting all the various departments in the admin building and learning about the company and what each departments are involved in. Get to meet a few of the GMs from the company. Haha. They also gotta entertain the 7 new employees.

Second day was visit to the 6 departments in the production side, meaning gotta dress in coveralls and safety boots with all the safety equipments to go around the workshops to look at what each of the production department is doing. Well, it's interesting to see all the different parts of the ship being made and yeah all the equipments are HUGE! One engine can be as high as 3-storey high. Haha. Eye opener and also I know nuts about ships.

On the third day, which is the most interesting day, we get to go on board to the ships! First time on a ship, other than cruise liners. It's a tour around the ships with regards to safety issues. First ship I get up was a bulk carrier that is undergoing repair work, almost at the finishing stage. Should be sailing off next week. Quite an old ship and kinda dirty. Yeah, shipyard is a super dirty place with no clean air. Haha. And the 7 of us are divided into 3 groups, with me being in a group with 2 guys. So, I got up the ship, all the banglas start looking at me, like I'm some kind of rare beast or what. All are thinking, what is a girl doing on board a ship in coveralls. ZZZZZZ. 'Cos apparently there's no female wokers onboard the ship, not even female engineers. Most female engineers work in workshop or office. Haha. Well, I don't really care actually, just enjoying my walk around the ship. Get to go all the way into the engine room to look at all the big big machines operating the ship.

Well, a mishap happens. As usual, the clumsy me fell down behind the safety officer who is bringing us around. The funny thing is the safety officer didn't know I fell down and continue walking, while the 2guys behind me saw my "happening" fall. Haha. Think of it I also wanna laugh. Was walking down the steps in the engine room and as I was not used to the safety goggles (these goggles make ur vision weird and things looked kinda elongated when you are wearing it), I missed a step and fell down on my left knee. Nothing serious, as I'm used to falling down. Then, that 2 guys who are walking down the steps just suddenly see me "disappear" from their view, and realise I fell down. Haha. Kinda funny sight. Luckily nothing serious happen. If not the safety officer is so dead. Hahaha.

In the noon, got up another ship. This is a newbuild tanker, that just started sailing about 2months ago and had been in the yard for 1month for some maintenance. It's freaking new and clean and nice. Especially the chief office! And the chief officer is so nice to offer us drinks and let us slack in the meeting room for over 2hours, enjoying the aircon. Haha. There's LCD TV, kitchen, Playstation, etc in the chief cabin. So nice lah! Like some luxury hotel. Haha. This ship is very big with over 300m in length. Impressive. Haha. Well, but it's kinda tiring working onboard the ship, gotta climb up and down and it's VERY hot in there. Just climbing up the gangway to the ship is like climbing up 5-storey flat or more. By the time you reach the ship, can feel that your legs are like jelly. Haha. To end it off, it's really a nice experience. And probably I won't have much chance to get up ships le, since I'm mainly working in the office, dealing with contractual stuffs and the clients and subcontractors.

On the last 0.5day of orientation, it's back to visting more departments in the admin building and yeah, finally I'm going to my department for the orientation. My first "visit" to my department and first look at my colleagues. Haha. Nothing much. Just kinda boring on the last 0.5days. None of us wanted the orientation to end, all of us are enjoying and having fun the last few days. By noon, all of us have to return to our respective department le. Time to get use to new environment again. Luckily for me, I got a friend in there and I will be working on the same project as her! Haha. And I'm sitting next to lili's friend. So I still got some company. Not that bad. Haha.

So as of now, I'm still having a slacking time on my job, basically just reading through the technical specs for my project. And since I don't have a computer yet, my mentor can't teach me stuffs yet and it probably take another 1-2weeks for my new computer to arrive. Also, my mentor is too busy to teach me things, he's involved in 3 projects and all of that he's a mentor to some mentee. Haha. Poor guy. He's like the only senior mechanical contracts engineer around, so all new mechanical contracts engineers are like under him. 2 of them joined only 2-3mths ago. Haha. Hmm, still not very sure of what I will be doing, but only know will be very busy, 'cos got 3 new tenders coming up. And most likely I gotta be involved in one of it and taking it as my own (only on the mechanical side. the electrical and structural stuffs got other people to do. Haha). Hopefully it's not going to be so bad. And I have to get use to attending LOTS of meeting and catching subcontractors for quotations. I wonder if I'm up to it. Ha.

one more week...

Going to be my last week of freedom, of slacking and doing nothing, before I start on my job on the 3rd. Yeah. Finally, my turn to step into a new phase in life. Ha. Maybe I still trying to run away from it, 'cos I do enjoy this period of rotting away, though I'm constantly worried about not being able to find a job. Guess there's always a good and bad in some thing. No more running away, time to get on with life and stop sticking to the life I'm used to. Boo! I hate changes. But life is always a constant change. Sigh. Guess I will just have to adapt. Ha.

Met up with min adn dap today. Time to get some shopping done, since I don't have much office wear clothes. Yeah, already spend like 100bucks getting a pair of pants, shirt and cardigan. Ha. Guess that's about how much I'm going to buy. The rest I shall just stick to wearing tees with pants. If not, will just wear that cardigan over any tops that I have and bottom it off with pants. Hahaha. No money lah, can't afford all the nice clothes! Lol.

Oh, dap commented about why did I go cut my hair and all my curls are gone. Haha. She didn't read my blog for quite some time, so didn't know I cut my hair. And yeah, she agrees that my hair is kinda short and wondering why I cut of all my curls. Next, min commented and agreed indeed my hair is short. That's where all my complaining start again! Haha. Guess the people who really understand me is min and dap ba, 'cos they know I don't like my hair to be this short. Haha. Once I mention my hair is uneven, min straight away say ya, why left side so short ar.. thinking that I thinned my hair. But nah, I just complained the whole story to them again. Haha. They say 40bucks/mth for my curls are really expensive. Yeah, I TOTALLY AGREE! It's like every month I go to the salon for a haircut that cost 40bucks! Totally not worth my money! But well, what's done is done and the hairstyle just got worse everyday as it slowly goes. Now my hair is totally haywire every morning I woke up. Even putting gel on it, trying to style it, doesn't help much. The only way to make it presentable is either to tie it all up, or putting more gel and try to let those strands of hair stick together and look somewhat like curls. Yeah. It's costing a strain on my styling products, which ain't cheap. ZZZZZZZZ.
